Course summary

Our Artificial Intelligence MSci will equip you with systematic knowledge and experience of the theory and practice of AI, offering you opportunities to develop analytical and practical transferable skills, as well as an understanding of the changing role of AI in society and relevant social, legal, professional, and ethical responsibilities, including, for example, philosophical issues related to the dangers of AI. All these are key knowledge and skills that will allow you to learn and adapt continuously and are important in both well-established and cutting-edge roles of AI professionals. The MSci is made up of modules covering important AI disciplines and an individual project that will offer you an opportunity to integrate the knowledge gained across different modules and to apply this in the context of a more complex development project (e.g. a project solving real challenges faced by the industry). You must take modules totalling 480 credits to complete the MSci course, including 60 that will come from one individual project in year three and one group project in year four.
