By the end of the course you will have specialist skills in data acquisition, information extraction, aggregation and representation, data analysis, knowledge extraction and explanation, which are all in high demand and will help progress your career.
Throughout term, there will be opportunities to take part in workshops and seminars with our partners in industry to help upskill, and we also offer you a free optional Cloud Computing course in summer term with training for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CCP) exams.
Accredited by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT for the purposes of partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered IT Professional and on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of partially meeting the academic requirement for a Chartered Engineer.

MSc with Placement option
This course is also offered as an 'MSc with Placement,' which includes an additional 120 credit module and extends the study period by an extra 12 months.
Who is this course for?
This course will teach you how to apply data science across many different sectors, including health, retail and government.

You will need to have a numerate first degree or demonstrate numeracy skills. You may be at the early stages of your career in professions including economics, statistics or computer science.

You are expected to be curious about data and enjoy working with algorithms.
