Current estimates suggest that a third of UK students become a victim of crime, with about 20% of student robberies occurring in the first six weeks of the academic year. New students with new and expensive equipment can be a goldmine for petty criminals. 

While many universities offer advice on personal safety, taking care of your belongings is your responsibility. It’s good to be prepared and do some research before you go so, you’re not an easy target.
